Freshman Leigha Brown scored a career-high 30 points to help the Nebraska women’s basketball team rally from a 10-point third-quarter deficit on their way to a 67-61 win over Purdue Sunday afternoon at Pinnacle Bank Arena. With the win, the Husker women improve to 6-7 in the Big Ten and 11-13 overall. They also set a school record with their 12th game of the season decided by two possessions or less. The Huskers had lost five straight games decided by six or fewer points. The Nebraska women are at 10th-ranked Maryland Thursday, tipoff will be at 7:00.
Despite Thomas Allen tying his career-high with 18 points Saturday, the Nebraska men’s basketball team fell at 15th-ranked Purdue 81-62. It was the 7th straight loss for the Huskers, who fall to 3-10 in the Big Ten and 13-11 overall. The Husker men will host Minnesota Wednesday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena, tipoff will be at 8:00.
