Trails and Rails Grand opening

Kearney, Neb (KGFW) - It has been a long time coming.

On August the Trails and Rails Museum officially opened its new Family History Center.

The project has been ongoing for a few years, through development and fundraising to finally phase one completion.

The new phase provides 6,000 sq feet for archives, offices, a new conference room and gift shop. This is part of a overall plan to increase the area the museum has and will allow them to pull historical items from storage for display.

The Buffalo County Historical Society now turns its attention to phase two, a west wing addition that will provide a multi-functional display space. Below you can hear the audio of Jennifer Murrish the executive director of the Buffalo County Historical Society when she was on Talk of the Town in late June along with a photo gallery of the ribbon cutting festivities.
