Loper Tabbed as Top NFL Prospect

UNK senior left tackle Cole Manhart has received some more 2014 preseason accolades. The Highlands Ranch, Colo., native represents the Lopers on Beyond Sports Network's preseason All-MIAA Team. Last year, Manhart not only earned first-team All-MIAA honors but also was the lone unanimous selection. Next, the Bleacher Report has tabbed Manhart (6-6, 300 lbs.) as one the top 14 "Small College" (FCS, Division II, Division III and NAIA) prospects for the 2015 NFL draft. He is one of three D2 players to make the list, the others being Henderson (Ark.) State QB Kevin Rodgers and Texas A & M-Commerce d-linemen Charles Tuaau. Currently, defensive end turned tight end Mason Brodine (St. Louis Rams) is the lone Loper playing in the NFL or CFL. Earlier this summer, Manhart made several 2014 preseason All-American teams; the MIAA Scholar Athlete made multiple 2014 All-American squads. UNK and Manhart report to fall camp in mid-August.
