The UNK baseball team closed out a four game road swing last night with a 9-2 win over Fort Hays State.
Loper catcher Dallas Schramm had a big night at the plate. The junior went 3-for-5, with a team best 17th double and 9th home run, and 3-RBI's. The victory at Hays means the Lopers will win this three game series. The Lopers topped the Tigers in game one last week in Kearney. Game three of the series is next Wednesday in Kearney. This is just the second MIAA series victory for the Lopers this season. They took two of three from Northeastern State a few weeks ago at Memorial Field. The Lopers open up a four game homestand this Friday night, with game one of a three game set against the Missouri Western State Griffons.
The UNK softball team split yesterday's double header at Chadron State. The Lopers took game one 3-2, but dropped the nightcap 10-4. The Lopers will play their final road games of the season this Friday with a double header at Fort Hays State. The Loper softball team will close out the season Saturday afternoon when they host the Tigers in a double header at Dryden Park.
The UNK football team will hit the practice field today, in what will be their final tuneup before this Saturday's annual spring game. This will be the first real look at the new offensive and defensive schemes that are being implemented by new head coach Josh Lynn. Kickoff will be at 11:30. You can hear the UNK football team's spring game on KGFW and www.KGFW.com.
