The Nebraska baseball team will close out a four game road swing this weekend at Big Ten leader Minnesota.
The Huskers dropped their first conference series of the year last weekend to Iowa. The Huskers had won six straight Big Ten series dating back to last season and enter this series with the Gophers fourth in the conference standings. This will be the Gophers’ first Big Ten home series, as they’ve played their first nine games on the road. The Gophers started the year 6-0 in the league with road sweeps at Ohio State and Michigan State, but then lost 2-for-3 at Indiana last weekend. The Gophers finished a half game ahead of the Huskers last season in the regular season standings, winning their first league title since 2010. Game one of this three game series begins tonight at 6:30.
The Nebraska volleyball team will close out their spring schedule this weekend in Kearney. The Huskers will take on Colorado State at the new Kearney High, first serve will be tomorrow afternoon at 3:00. The trip to Kearney continues Nebraska’s tradition of touring the state for spring volleyball matches. The Huskers played Colorado in Ogallala last year and have also made recent visits to Grand Island, Wayne and Norfolk. Fans who can't attend tomorrow's match can still catch the Huskers in action. The public is invited to watch the team practice at Kearney High tonight starting at 6:00. Fans can take photos and get autographs from the players following the workout.
