Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton was in southwest Minnesota earlier this week to see damage caused by flooding.
Speaking to reporters in Jackson Monday, Dayton said he was shocked by what he saw.
“I was surprised how close (the water) is to overpasses on bridges. Fortunately, most of them seemed to be recently built. But the magnitude of the water, I’ve just never seen anything like it.”
Damage from flooding is estimated at nearly $8 million dollars, meaning the state will qualify for major federal assistance.
