The Nebraska baseball team picked up a 10-9 come-from-behind victory over Northwestern in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday at Hawks Field. The Huskers trailed 8-2 after the top of the fourth, but fought back and rallied from a deficit of six or more of the first time since March 30, 2010. With the win, the Huskers improved to 26-16 on the year and 8-4 in conference play, while avoiding the series sweep by the Wildcats. The Huskers travel to Ann Arbor this weekend, for a three-game series against the Michigan Wolverines. 
 
The UNK baseball team edged Pittsburg State, 8-6 in 13 innings, Saturday in Kansas. By rallying from a 6-0 deficit, the Lopers (27-16, 21-15) took three of four from the Gorillas (16-30, 11-25). With one regular season series remaining, UNK is now tied with Washburn for fifth place in the MIAA standings. The top eight teams make the league tournament with the top four squads hosting a three-game first round series May 1-3. The Lopers close out the regular season at home, with a four-game MIAA series against Missouri Southern State (23-22, 16-20).
 
A busy UNK track & field team had four more NCAA provisional efforts this weekend at three different meets. Three Lopers went all the way to California for the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut and Azusa while around 25 UNK student-athletes were in Lawrence, Kans., Thursday through Saturday for the 87th Annual Kansas Relays.Finally, Kearney also took part in the two-day Doane Relays in Crete. UNK heads to the Nebraska Wesleyan Open on the April 24th.
 
The Nebraska volleyball team defeated the Iowa State Cyclones 4-0 (27-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-22) at Hilton Coliseum in the Huskers’ first spring match of the season on Saturday. The Huskers travel to Wayne, Neb., this Saturday for their final spring match when they take on Creighton at Rice Auditorium at 2 p.m.
