Three Transfers Sign with Husker Women's Basketball

Nebraska women’s basketball has grown their signing class to six with three more added Wednesday. All three additions are transfers.

MiCole Cayton, a 5-9 guard from Stockton, California, originally committed to Nebraska out of high school but decided on Cal after the coaching change, was an honorable-mention All-Pac-12 Freshman in 2016-17. She appeared in just four games over the next three seasons, battling knee injuries. Cayton is expected to have two years of eligibility remaining.

“MiCole has an infectious competitive spirit and drive to be her very best,” said Nebraska coach Amy Williams. “Her high energy and passion along with her experience as a collegiate athlete make her a great fit for our program.”

Bringing size to Nebraska is 6-3 forward Bella Cravens. Originally from Laie, Hawaii, Cravens earned honorable-mention All-Big Sky accolades as a sophomore at Eastern Washington after averaging 10.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.7 blocks. She totaled 96 blocks in two seasons at Eastern Washington, which ranked ninth on the school career charts. She has two seasons of eligibility left.

“Bella is an excellent athlete who is motivated to become the best player she can,” said Williams. “We have a strong need for the things she brings to the table, and we believe her best basketball is still in front of her.”

The final signee on the day is 5-9 guard Nailah Dillard. As a true freshman this past season for Texas Tech, Dillard appeared in 23 games and averaged 3.6 points and 1.7 rebounds in just under 10 minutes per game. She scored 22 points a game her senior year as one of the top high school players in California. Dillard has three seasons to play at Nebraska.

“We are very excited to add Nailah to the Husker family,” said Williams. “She brings another confident presence from behind the art, and she is also a player that is hungry to expand her game. She takes pride in playing on both ends of the court.”

The three additions join three high school signees, Ruby Porter, Annika Stewart, and Whitney Brown, who inked their letters of intent in November.
