KGFW Sports – Three More Offers for Haarberg, Husker Recruiting News 05/6/20

Kearney Catholic 2021 quarterback Heinrich Haarberg has received three more scholarship offers. After receiving an offer on Monday from Husker head coach Scott Frost, the 2021 prospect also received offers from North Carolina State, Vanderbilt and McNeese State. He previously had one other Power Five offer from Boston College, plus FBS offers from Buffalo, Central Michigan, Northern Illinois, Old Dominion, Ohio, UMass and Wyoming. A three-star 2021 prospect according to 247Sports, the 6-foot-5 195-pound Haarberg is the 16th ranked dual-threat quarterback in the nation.

In other Husker recruiting news;

Class of 2021 defensive end/outside linebacker Davon Townley picked up an offer from the Huskers on Tuesday. The 6-foot-6 220 pound native of Minneapolis also has offers from Indiana, Iowa State, Missouri, Boston College and Minnesota.

The Huskers also extended offers to several 2022 prospects Tuesday. Trent Ramsey, a four star 6-foot-5 270 pound offensive lineman from Arizona also has offers from Cal, Duke, Florida State and Arizona State. They extended an offer to linebacker Lamar Washington from Portland, Oregon. A three star prospect according to 247 Sports, the 6-foot-4 215 pound Washington also has offers from Cal, Kansas, Nevada and Utah State. The Huskers also offered a scholarship defensive lineman Chris McClellan. Iowa State, Kansas State, Memphis and Oklahoma State have shown interest in the the 6-foot-3 260 pounder from Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Omaha Westside junior quarterback Cole Payton has committed to three time defending FCS champion North Dakota State. The 6-foot-3 210 pound lefty threw for nearly 2,000 yards as a junior, with 24 TDs through the air. He also rushed for 874 yards and 15 TDs. He was a 2nd team Super state selection last season after leading Westside to the Class A state championship. Payton is the 84th ranked dual-threat QB in the country and currently holds a two-star rating from 247 Sports.

Former Nebraska wide receiver Quincy Enunwa has suffered another setback. According to reports, Enunwa will miss the entire 2020 season due to a neck injury. The New York Jets placed him on the physically unable to perform list on Tuesday. He missed last season after re-injuring his neck in the first game.

The Tri-City Storm announced multiple transactions ahead of Phase II of the 2020 USHL Draft. The Storm aquired the 2nd overall pick in the 1st Round of the Phase II Draft from the Sioux City Musketeers in exchange for the 3rd overall pick in the 1st Round of the Phase II Draft and affiliate list forward Luke Buss. The Storm also acquired the 31st overall draft selection in the Phase II Draft in exchange for forward Asa Kinnear. In total, the Storm completed six separate transactions involving six players, twelve draft picks, and future considerations.

The Nebraska Sports Council has announced that the Cornhusker State Games torch run will be conducted virtually from June 1-25 across the state. The State Games are still scheduled for July 17-26 in Lincoln, Omaha and surrounding communities.
