KGFW Sports – Stroh a Shocker and More

Gareth Stroh has announced his transfer destination… Wichita State. The Gibbon native and former Husker entered the transfer portal earlier this week. The lefty was the Husker’s Friday starter this past season. A graduate transfer, Stroh will be immediately eligible to play for the Shockers next season. Gareth’s brother, Seth, will also be joining the Shockers next season. A standout at Kearney High, last week Seth was named the Kearney Hub Male Athlete of Year.

Carlton “CJ” Guidry, a three-star wide receiver from the Houston area, included the Huskers among his top three schools Wednesday. Texas Tech and Houston also made the cut. The Huskers were the first Power Five school to offer Guidry in April 2019. The 5-foot-11, 160-pound Guidry is the 133rd ranked receiver in the country for the 2021 class and the 134th overall prospect in Texas, according to the 247Sports composite.

The NCAA’s governing body extended a moratorium on in-person recruiting efforts by another month on Wednesday evening, announcing that the ban will now run through July 31st. The ban was originally put in place in mid-March and was extended through May and then through June. The ban applies not just to football but to all sports. Now, the earliest time that prospects will be able to visit campuses is in August.
