KGFW Sports – NU-8 Lawsuit, Compton Signs and High School Scores and Schedules 8/28/20

By News Aug 28, 2020 | 8:19 AM

A group of Nebraska football players have filed a lawsuit against the Big Ten Conference in an attempt to reverse the decision to postpone fall sports and find out more on how the decision to postpone was made. The lawsuit raises three counts against the Big Ten: wrongful interference with business expectations, breach of contract, and declaratory judgement. It is filed in the District Court of Lancaster County. Eight players are named in the suit: Garrett Snodgrass, Garrett Nelson, Ethan Piper, Noa Pola-Gates, Alante Brown, Brant Banks, Brig Banks and Jackson Hannah.

Former Husker linebacker Will Compton has agreed to contract terms with the Tennessee Titans. Last season, Compton was briefly with the New Orleans Saints in training camp before being cut after sustaining an injury late in the preseason. He signed with the Oakland Raiders in October, and appeared in nine games, making 38 tackles, while also playing special teams.

Kennedi Orr, the nation’s top 2021 recruit, is set to join the Nebraska volleyball team in time for a potential spring season. The high school volleyball season in Minnesota has been postponed until winter due to COVID-19. The 6-foot setter from Minnesota will forego her senior season and will instead enroll at Nebraska in early January.

Hastings College has announced its event and venue guidelines for the fall sports season. Up to 75 percent capacity will be allowed at outdoor venues and 50 percent capacity at indoor venues. Fans will be required to wear masks at games. The Bronco football team opens the season at home on September 12th against Dakota Wesleyan.

Hastings College men’s soccer is picked to win the G-PAC by the leagues coaches. The Bronco women are picked 3rd.
