The Detroit Lions have signed free agent cornerback and former Husker Chris Jones. Jones wasn’t drafted in 2018, but signed with the Lions and participated in their training camp before he made the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad. He played 11 games for the Cardinals last season, and started three. He finished with 22 tackles and six passes defensed. The Lions play at Atlanta on Sunday.

Nebraska has made an offer to Troy commit and junior college player Jae’vien Gill. The 6-foot-5 240-pound Mississippi native is a three star prospect according to the 247SPORTS JUCO Composite ratings.

Nebraska senior volleyball player, Jazz Sweet, has been cited for DUI after an incident on Sunday morning where she reportedly sideswiped a vehicle. According to an LPD accident report, Sweet was pulled over around 3:00 a.m. that morning. Her blood-alcohol level was .266. Sweet played in all 33 matches last year for the Huskers.

The Tri-City Storm defeated its the Omaha Lancers 5-2 Wednesday night at the Viaero Center in Kearney. Now 2-0 in Corn Cup action, the Storm returns to action Friday night with a road game against rival Lincoln.
