LINCOLN, Neb. (KGFW) – Nebraska is opening vaccines up to the general public beginning Monday. Gov. The Governor also said yesterday that Nebraska would not participate in any vaccine passport program. Saying the “concept violates two central tenets of the American system: freedom of movement and healthcare privacy.” Ricketts issued the statement following news regarding the development of vaccine passport systems.

A Nebraska medical worker’s adverse reaction to their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine has been reported to the CDC’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System. The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services said Wednesday the worker in their late 40s is from the Four Corners Health District, which includes Butler, Polk, Seward and York counties. They received the Moderna vaccine in mid-March. The reaction occurred in late-March. Nebraska Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Gary Anthone (Ann-Tone) says the results of the CDC review will be shared once made available. More than 405,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine have been administered in Nebraska.
