Minnesota Farmers Union pleased with House and Senate Ag Bills

The government relations director for Minnesota Farmers Union says there’s a lot to like in both the House and Senate agriculture bills.

Stu Lourey tells Brownfield the Senate version includes investments in biofuels, broadband, and meat processing.

“The House bill has even stronger investments. They got an $11.5 million target for agriculture, which means they can make new investments in helping small meat processors get started across the state and invest in biofuels infrastructure.”

He says there are also dollars for farmer mental health, cooperative development, and a host of other Farmers Union priorities.
